Right statement, wrong reason. She’s objectively best pony because she decides the fate of equestria and without her, the entirety of equestria would be screwed, as proven by the season 5 finale.
Why do people come here and say shit like, well this is a load of bull, or something like that….it’s just someone trolling….don’t be idiots, your opinion is your opinion, dash is my favourite but might not be others, people need to just stop commenting on these, and before someone says why am I commenting, I’m making s point
I didn’t say “they don’t accept it till the limit is pushed” I said “Don’t get it until ANOTHER CHARACTER slaps them into it” which is different.
And outside of like Wonderbolts Academy I am having a hard time thinking of other episodes where Dash has a big lesson where it’s NOT slapped into her by someone else.
As for Development, I think strong cases can be made for Rarity and Twilight (though frankly most of Twilight’s developments ended up making her less appealing sadly). With Dash yeah she’s changed plenty but a lot of the key episodes where that development happens frankly aren’t really enjoyable to watch. Like In Season 2 Dash get’s pretty throughly humbled in just about all her episodes that season and then yes in Season 3 you can totally see that. But most of the episodes where the humbling happens just aren’t very good. Like May the Best Pet Win is throughly meh and Mare-Do-Well is Mare-Do-Well. And then going onward you have stuff like Rainbow Falls which again, important for Dash, she learns an important lesson and helps others learn it too… andddd it’s a total failure of an episode.
And to add to this, unlike when it’s done with other characters, Dash pretty much never realizes she was in the wrong on her own, she’s always had to have it slaped into her by others.
Not true. There’s a good list of episodes where the other ponies just do not get it until they have no choice but to accept what went wrong.
Off the top of my head:
Applebuck Season
Lesson Zero
Literally every single Fluttershy episode because the writers refuse to treat her as more than a one-trick pony
Feeling Pinkie Keen
Sisterhooves Social
The Last Roundup
A Friend In Deed
Ponyville Confidential (if we include the CMC)
Apple Family Reunion
I would throw Spike under the bus for Spike At Your Service, but a good Spike episode is simply rare.
Dash has accepted the problems on her own in more episodes than not, but, much like the others, it reaches the point where whatever problem is going on they can’t solve it in any way other than the one way they were trying to avoid from the start.
They’ve all shown development, but personally Dash has shown the absolute most over the course of the series.
And to add to this, unlike when it’s done with other characters, Dash pretty much never realizes she was in the wrong on her own, she’s always had to have it slaped into her by others.
