Only just seen this. Good work with the proportions. Can’t really fault anything here. Might’ve tried putting some light spots in the black parts of her eyes though. The block colour does make the eyes look flat and lifeless.
Also, try shading the ‘coloured’ parts of the eyes, darker at the top, lighter at the bottom. Gives them more depth.
Looks a little odd without any stripes in her mane and tail too.
Don’t want to put you off. Looks like you’re off to a good start.
Here’s a hint for you to try something.
Try doing a copy of another drawing, doing it freehand (I assume that’s what you’ve done here), but alter the pose a bit. Say of a character’s stood on all four hooves, try doing one of the hooves raised on your version. Maybe alter the angle of the head a little.
(Or do what I did here and do a copy, but exchange the characters >>1027522. Aria there is almost an exact copy of Rainbow Dash in the picture I got inspiration from)
@SeraphimDawn
Thank you. I am just starting with my art. I think I’ll have better luck with the camera next time so no more blue filter. Beside that I try not to discourage myself too much by looking at art.
@YateTiemeng
Thank you! Knowing myself, I will probably change it again in a few hours XD But I just love Aria, especially this picture of her.
You’re very welcome! Good luck :)
@YateTiemeng
How about drawing a couple of ponies together? it would help you improve with proportions and you could even draw an interaction between the characters. You could also draw them in different positions e.g. raised hoof.
But it’s just a suggestion, I can’t wait to see more of your drawings because I really like your Twilight picture :)
@BlazingDazzlingDusk
Thanks. I still wouldn’t call it a style. I mean this is just the first pic I made and umm copied a pic. But we will see in the future. Of course I’ll need to find out how.
