OH GOSH! Imagine if others had the Pinkie sense!
Conclusion: pony eyes are not eyeballs, but in fact light-sensitive patches with a thin, Fresnel-style lens and an iris system that can be relocated over a soft cornea.
They probably have a vomeronasal organ and exhibit the flehmen response when other ponies enter heat, but that isn’t shown because this show is for kids.
I want magnetoception. Because Magneto.
