@Exedrus
Somebody suggested that it was Azu… Azu… Azubtlfld’s timeline (Daring Do’s monkey-god-thing) and it was scorched because he finally managed to steal the sun.
(I like all of the explanations tho)
@pwingbrony
Indeed! The writers left a lot of the alternate timelines open ended, which leaves plenty of room for the fandom to build some interesting headcanons. This ep is going to be a goldmine of potential settings for story tellers to base their works in.
@Darth Prime
I like the “all the villains fought” theory myself. It seems the one that makes the most sense, all things considered.
And instead of a new villain, can you imagine if they had popped in once and everything was normal, but all her friends were like, “Twilight?! But, it can’t be you… we saw you die several months after reforming Starlight!”
@Exedrus
This is something that I actually quite liked about this finale. It felt like there was a lot left to the imagination. Even if I thought the way the villains effected the futures were a little weird, due to my assumption that the villains would always come back in a certain order, and that there should’ve been some signs of each in each future. But, whatever. Butterfly effect is complicated.
@Vree
Uh, I don’t think so. She says the top quote at the end of the last “alternate ending” that we get to see. After that we go back to Starlight’s childhood, then back to the time surrounding when the Mane 6 got their CMs, and finally back to the present where everything is fixed.
@Krek
Some people are suggesting it’s a world where all the villains clashed with each other.
I wish they had taken the opportunity to show a new villain for next season.
Just have Twilght see some new bad guy and go “Who the hay is that?!”
And the fandom would spend the summer going nuts over it.
TS: “Look Starlight! Look at how bad this future is!”
SG: “This- this can’t be happ- wait. No Ponyville is just over there. It looks pretty unharmed.”
TS: “…”
SG: “Well I don’t think we need this anymore.”
TS: “Wait no!”
*PARCHMENT RIPPING SOUNDS*
@pwingbrony
It’d definitely possible that the last ending was the result of internal strife bringing down Ponykind, or something else that wouldn’t explicitly require a “villain” character. But I guess I just kinda assumed that the pattern up until this point held. So just like with all the other timelines, there was a villain somewhere even if we didn’t really get to see them.
Actually I heard this before I watched the ep and she technically says that BEFORE half of the futures happen.
So it can not apply to futures she hasn’t even set yet.
Just sayin’.
@Krek
I figured they won the competition for Sweet Apple Acres because AJ didn’t have her extended family to help and the profits from that the bulid an industrial empire.
