All I can think of right now that supports racism in canon is the Hearth’s Warming story (where Princess Platinum seemed to say that she looked down more on pegasi than earth ponies) & Trenderhoofs comment about admiring earth pony work ethic.

The term people are looking for here is Fantastic Racism. It’s show canon to a certain degree, so I’m not quire sure what all the fuss is about.

This is just awful news. It’s terrible that people harass and insult others over comics.

At least it was the artist’s decision, even if it was because he or one of his friends was harassed. This wasn’t the result of dogmatic censorship, political, religious, or otherwise. Having said that, yes, it is bound for the memory-hole, along with that … one webcomic, Penny Arcade or VGCats from a decade ago about the release of Shadow the Hedgehog where Shadow, bemoaning the edgy nature of his game, made mention about watermelon.
 
You see, he’s a black hedgehog, his game had weapons, shooting, and… yeah.

I always hate the idea of something on the internet just kinda… disappearing, forever.  
It feels worse when it’s done purposely.
 
Everyone involved in this “drama” had choices and made… sub-optimal ones, to put it mildly. Good lord, what happened to maturity, perspective, and rationality?
 
I really wanna say more but it wouldn’t be making me any friends on either “side”. I’m really just sad that something of creative value was lost.

As much as I think this is an unfunny joke that doesn’t really make any sense, I’m surprised that it caused some actual drama.

It’s a dumb comic, and not particularly funny, but also not worth getting worked up about. Move on.

I saw the comic and it made me feel attacked and persecuted as I have an earth pony OC and find it mean spirited to have an entire race demeaned like that.
 
But I’m an adult so I got over it and moved on with my life.
 
People who feel the need to attack or insult anyone involved with the comic are committing a far worse crime than just making a tasteless joke.
 
Offence is always taken and is never given.
