If you roll with that argument you can rule out pretty much any variation of the mane 6. you can only draw them how they appeared in the last scene of Season 5. Cause everything else is past.  
Including popular stuff like Pinkamena, Flutterbat, etc. I know they were not permanent changes like Twilight’s wings, but they’re just as much in the past as unicorn Twilight.  
And it gets even worse.  
Apocalypse Dash or Night Maid Rarity didn’t even happen in the current timeline! Why did people EVER draw them???

Cowardly background pony strikes again.

The “problem” (no, its not really a problem, but you know what I mean) is not Twilight as a unicorn, it’s about living in the past where Alicorn-Twi didn’t happen. It’s like drawing the CMC without their cutie marks, the cakes without their children and so on. In my opinion, a picture of present-Twilight should be Twilight as a alicorn.  
But must importantly i didn’t want to start a discussion, my comment was merely meant as joke because ambris other picture showed Twilight with her wings. It’s pretty hot anyways.

I don’t understand the necessity to always draw twilight with wings. She’s just as valid without.
 
I got no problem with Alicorn Twilight, and I’ve got no problem with Unicorn Twilight. I don’t get why anyone else should either.
