Are you replying to pia-chan? Anyway, Meghan McCarthy didn’t say this ship is never gonna happened. She just said that Spike is a kid. However, most of the other writers of the show view Spike as a teenager.
 
Jim Miller (who some people called him Big Jim) one of the directors of the show, has said that Spike is dealing with “teenage type problems”.

The more we mature, the more we welcome things that cannot simply be categorized as material goods.
 
And there’s seldom substitute for effort. For courage. For the scars on one who went through hellfire just to get something for their beloved. Even for certain material goods, it’s the effort, the saving, the sacrifices made to be able to afford something you wish for them to have.
 
And for someone like Rarity, she can see the struggle Spike had to be in, and to know it’s all for her; she cannot hope to match such generosity.
