@BlazingDazzlingDusk
Yeah £40 is a bit much for the two. £20 is a lot more reasonable!
@40kponyguy
I suppose it varies when it comes to location between Tesco and Sainsburys. More often than not, when I need to collect football tickets, I check the Sainsburys right next to our ground and I feel they have a good selection with MLP stuff when it comes to variety and quantity. Conversely though, the one near my college barely has anything MLP related.
With Tesco, it’s the same thing. Although most of the stores near where I live just have the one floor and do a selection of brushables and blind bags, where as the two floored ones don’t have a whole lot more.
@BlazingDazzlingDusk
Yeah Sainsburys have good a decent variety (and I know I’ve spent the morning slagging off the DVDs, but the Season 2 boxset they sell has also got episodes from Season 3 as well, which I think is pretty cool!).
Yeah Tesco is better online, I agree. Asda’s biggest strength, in my opinion, is their exclusivity. They sold a double pack with Twilight and Rainbow Dash, a selection of blind bags figures, and some of the Friendship is Magic collection. Problem is though, I found them to be pricey, although they did discount them to a reasonable price very quickly!
@EddersCPFC
I’ve found the local Sainsburys is a bit pathetic when it comes to MLP.
Our local Tesco has a fair selection of stuff, but it is a big store, (2 floors).
Asda is definitely better though, and it’s the ***ONLY *** store locally that gets the DVDs in.
Sainsbury’s is really good for EG dolls! Tesco’s online selection is much better than instore. I like how ASDA sells some American exclusives and often the prices are reasonable.
They should start selling them selling them again I feel (Tesco are also the only Supermarket that doesn’t sell MLP dvds either). But I agree, Asda is definitely the best supermarket when it comes to MLP stuff, however Sainsburys are really good as well.
That’s good! Maybe they’ll start selling them again, then? I’m just surprised that they didn’t try to cash in on FG more.
The supermarket with the best selection definitely has to be Asda.
@BlazingDazzlingDusk
Nah they sell well enough for them to keep releasing them, sadly.
It’s weird how Tesco seemed to have stopped selling EQG dolls, but one I was at not too long ago was selling a doll of Applejack from Friendship Games which caught me by surprise!
@BlazingDazzlingDusk
Usually, the speed up PAL brings for American TV Shows annoys me. But with MLP, I want it at its original speed because I’m used to watching streams online. Why can’t Hasbro UK realise this!
Yep, they sell them at Smyths, but truth be told, I’ve never seen all six of them in a store. Usually the ones I’ve seen are Twilight, Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash. Argos sold them as well this time last year.
@EddersCPFC
The thing that annoys me the most about it is how much it ruins the songs.
I see. I didn’t know that. Hasbro, that’s not the way to treat your paying customers!
I’ve only ever seen the Twilight, Pinkie Rainbow FTA dolls.
Really?! A shop over here actually sells them? Oh gosh, it’s a miracle!
@BlazingDazzlingDusk
The reason for those annoying voices is because it needs to play smoothly at PAL format we use in the UK, but you can easily fix it as 16 episodes of Season 1 showed. I tried emailing Primal Screen (MLP’s DVD distributor in the UK) and Hasbro and got no where…
Yep Toys R Us UK have no sense. They advertise the Friendship Through The Ages dolls, but don’t sell them in store. Oh and here’s the best part, Smyths, DO sell them!
@BlazingDazzlingDusk
It’s embarrassing. They sell the Rainbow Power version of Fluttershy which has Pinkie’s name on packaging…worse with their online however, they advertise Friendship Games dolls online where as they don’t sell them in store! That’s terrible! It’s basically false advertising…Smyths wiped the floor with them. Got a brilliant selection of MLP stuff when it comes to variety and quantity.
@40kponyguy
Yeah it’s bollocks when it comes to the UK. Toys? You’ll get them well after the US. DVDs of FIM? You’ll get them out of order with the characters sounding like fucking chipmunks! You wanted Rainbow Rocks and Friendship Games on Blu Ray with all the special features? Want to know that Indigo Zap was originally Spitfire and then Lightning Dust? Well you’re not gonna HD humans with the commentaries and deleted scenes! And the vinyl funko figures? Such a shame you’re gonna have to import them…
We get screwed over so much and none of the retailers besides Smyths and perhaps Argos and maybe Asda and Sainsburys give a shit…
@EddersCPFC
There pony selection is terrible and their online shipping prices aren’t great, either. Tesco’s definitely the worst, though. Not an EG doll in sight.
