Hasn’t starswirl performed feets that even celestia is incapable of? He interloped the sirens. Discord can rip spacetime, but even both sisters needed powerful implements to temporarily contain him.
You know i am starting to thinking that Star Swirl The Bearded is actually an alicorn, because he already created over 200 spells and Twilight only FIX one of his spell to become alicorn, he just hide his wing under the his cape maybe because it going to disturb him while experience with the magic, or maybe in his time there is no alicorn hence after creating 200 spells he didn’t become one, but after he abandoned the FRIENDSHIP spell that and later fix by Twilight, he experienced with much more advanced spell and can turn a Pegasus Unicorn or possibly earth pony into alicorn.
Or maybe one of spells that he created is actually race changer and he actually can become alicorn, earth pony, pegasus, unicorn, possible crystal pony, and he can become the alicorn at his will, or maybe he thought that alicorn is nothing but unicorn with wing or pegasus with horn so he just abandoned the spell all together and searching for more powerful spell, and maybe he actually the creator of the elements of harmony.

I’m sure Shining Armor would’ve been female also if it weren’t for the future backlash towards Hasbro from parents having to think of a way to explain to their kids how two females can make a baby.
I’m starting to think that there will be no male alicorn, ever. A possible reason is like why fairy tales rather use Princess instead of Queen–Chrysalis definitely didn’t help, and basically a royal with the title of Queen basically is evil. I’m pretty sure it’s wouldn’t be a surprise that the reason Shining Armor is a Prince (when it’s shown that is) is also because a royal with a title of King most of the time would be either a warmaniac, corrupted, or just plain evil. And Sombra doesn’t help the plight of Kings being tyrannical rulers instead of reverred, just ones.
I also am starting to think that Starswirl was fucked from jump because he was born with a penis. He’s a stallion, and we have see this world enough that Equestria is a matriarical society, and the ones with powers are female.

Maybe its like becoming a space marine in 40k and for some scientific or magical reason only females can undergo the alicornification process or be born with alicorn magic.
If I can accept the space marines only being male I can accept Alicorns only being female.
First there were only Celestia and Luna. Cadance became an alicorn seemingly out of nowhere. Celestia pushed really hard to have Twilight become an alicorn, and finally Flurry Heart was just born one.
At what point do alicorns no longer count as rare? :3
I’d actually like to see a true “prince” on the show. In other words, a male alicorn. Seems unfair that Starswirl created an entire encyclopedia of spells and got no upgrade to royalty. Twilight HELPS to finish ONE of HIS spells, and BAM, instant princess.

Doesn’t really make sense since Twilight only got wings after finishing a single spell of his. So how was it “by herself”? The artist really dropped the ball there.
the only thing that comes even close to the things that happened with Medivh, is that fan theory of Star Swirl becoming Discord, but that’s all that is at the end of the day, a theory.
