Um, Team Fortress 2 is free-to-play. Most servers are free to go on, regardless of the groups that designed them or if they are the Valve ones.
 
I’m usually hanging around the Anti-Cheat Gamers servers for Mann vs Machine when not working on map-related achievements on Valve servers. I am also on the Otaku Gaming Halloween servers as well.
