Ahh, but this is the ingenious part of the plan. If you make the one least likely to die the “guy who dies first” it increases the chances that nopony will die at all.

Sure. The guy who dies first in a zombie apocalypse is the only one with the natural body armor that most creature’s teeth wouldn’t be able to pierce at all. Makes perfect sense.

Both Spike and Angel are useful, regardless what people think of them. They helped when was asked and both of them have their flaws. No matter how much spike-haters, or angel-haters rant about them with their petty hate, none of them deserve to die. Nothing can change that. And I don’t even care about Spike.
