I really don't see how. I was pointing out that by virtue of being effectively a medium and the combine product of an entire nation, there is far too much variety in the medium of anime to literally say "I don't like anime" because the laws of probability ensure that there are some shows that could be called anime that you will like. Now, before you get on my case for being too literal, I know that when people say "they don't like anime" they don't literally mean "I automatically dislike anything animated in the nation state of Japan, because fuck the slant-eyes". Rather you mean mainstream anime like action shonens, mecha anime, harem, and moe (yes, I know I probably lost you here, but trust me, this is the mainstream stuff you avoid).

But I often see people, who in a rush, dismiss things they otherwise would like because they see it was either made in Japan or has a typical anime style to it. Not out of any sort of malice (for the most part, you get the occasional Channer that buys their own shit), but because they automatically assume that it's just gonna be Dragon Ball Z or some weird Romcom.

Honestly, it was a call to research prospective shows more than anything else.
No reason given
