Usually what happens is I do a crappy picture myself first to get the idea down, and then with someone else’s commission establish it.
 
edit: and in reply to your edit, that’s an interesting idea. In this AU part of what causes her to go mad/nightmare mode is wanting things to go back to the way they were when she was younger (and smaller), I’ll think about it I guess, but I was fairly set on her being stronk and dominant (or trying to be, perhaps when failing going into childish rage instead…)

I think i’d be interesting if she actually got smaller, and feral in nightmare form. Like her complete polar opposite here.

The places she will most often be, like palaces, town halls, cathederals and the like luckily all have high ceilings. I’m sure it happens on the occasions she vists places like ponyville though :p

Blame me being from the UK. For some reason, most everything here is in metric apart from distances, which are in imperial for most of the time :p.

It should be pointed out that Celestia’s boobs are as big, if not bigger, then everyone else’s heads. Also Twilight is eye level with her nipples.

I know and its kinda amazed me how a simple re-colour or remaking of original character can cause such a deep deep “discussion” on this site. By the way,this is a good artwork.

A fair point, they are slightly so, as I had to adjust the sizes slightly from the original artworks.  
People’s head’s can vary perhaps more than you’d imagine though; despite me being above average height, my head is actually below average for example =p

Heads seem disproportionate to the rest of the body to me especially in the case of Luna; other than that pretty nice.
