I gotta be honest here, this is pretty half-baked. The mane moves almost independently from the rest of the body and looks completely disconnected. The left eye is on a completely different level than the right and sags pretty badly. Plus, the size of the cutie mark is incredibly inconsistent. Lastly, a lot of the parts just kinda shake around of their own accord instead of moving with the boby.

They do IRL, but as Palikabufun states, they do it standing rather than sitting. Equines can be very flexible. Google “horse/pony scratching ear”and you’ll see equines on plenty of weird poses.
