Again that’s true there could be more like him but I don’t think any of the changelings are evil as we are not shown anything that really shows that they are and there are just tons of contradictions that prove they are not which means he’s not really different the episode just try’s to portray it that way but fails.

They are super adorable btu also horrible tho.

To expand on this a bit before I go to work what I mean here is the whole Shatter Point weapon part and how you could really argue that Bismuth had a good point The episode didn’t get into that and a lot of people complained which I think is similar to what is being expressed here as this show is aimed at people even younger then what SU is aimed at.
 
Mostly though I think with Kevin existing that we can just easily say that Thorax was wrong and there are more like him out there and not all changelings are evil.

It’s as much the changelings’ episode as it is Spike’s, and we’ve been waiting for that for over 4 years. It’s okay, but we’re sure as hell gonna pick apart its shortcomings.

Well for one thing Kevin exists, so he is wrong about all other changelings being evil, a character can be wrong about something. I also think you are expecting maybe a bit too much nuance from a show for young children not even Steven Universe gets into that much nuance (see the episode Bismuth for that) and that is aimed a bit higher than this show.

That’s true but The episode manages to confuse it’s own message as Thorax describes the changelings as evil and the only thing we are shown is them hissing which doesn’t equal evil, he also states he’s aware the attack was for survival and as means to escape being hidden to feed which contradicts his evil description of them as well as the biggest contradiction that if he tells them the ponies are willing to help they may ally with them which completely goes against his own description as something that is evil would not even consider peace making it impossible for them to be evil.
 
I think the episode would have been better if they had left the “I’m special” trope out as it was not necessary at all it just makes it seem contradictory and pointless to even have it.

I want to name them.
