Whatever specie the characters are (they certainly aren’t horses as we know them) seem to develop very rapidly through the first stages of growth, but then have an extended human-like childhood. The Cake twins were walking and flying inside a month, but the guests at Sweetie Belle’s party were identified by Rarity as being five years old and still in a much earlier stage of life than the C.M.C. who we’ve seen as children throughout the series.

She had one or two cameo appearances in other episodes. The two Cutie Mark crusader focused ones I believe.
I think she appeared less than Celestia, or maybe about even.
I’ve said this once and I’ll say it again. This scene is way better then photograph used at the end of the opening and should be what they use from now on.

Especially considering how she was just as mad at Chrysalis as the rest of the Princesses, ready to use her own magic to tear Chrysalis apart.
I was amused by the “You don’t mind if I brought a few friends” line more than I should have been… I mean, she’s pretty much asking if five princesses, the spirit of chaos, and eight heroes who have saved the world at least once can crash their party.
