though i would appreciate genuine discussion beyond “STOP DISLIKING WHAT I LIKE”, i’m fine with the flak. it’s the implication that i should not be allowed to say and do such things because of a “site assistant” banner that i was taking issue with, and comparing it to your habit of voicing disagreeable opinions despite such a banner. the fact that you disagree with my opinions, or that they are negatively aimed at something you like, do not automatically make them shitposts. i don’t call your opinions shitposts because i disagree with them and/or they are positively aimed at things i dislike, and if i have in the past then feel free to link it either publicly or privately and i’ll apologize as appropriate.

His mane looks short, so having a curl is kinds impossible, and i don’t image his hair having anything to do with him (unless he has talent in hairdressing). What definition i was thinking is “a mechanism for keeping a door, lid, etc., fastened, typically operated only by a key of a particular form” and/or “fasten or secure (something) with a lock.” Probably most likely is “restrict access to the full functionality or data of (a computer, mobile phone, file, etc.), especially by requiring a user to verify their identity with a passcode or other form of authentication.” As in restrict the access to the memory of the existence of the mane six or something.

it’s the name, the sith cloak, the emo hair, and the scar. literally every visible trait about this character it dmc devil may cry levels of edgy. it’s really nothing against the comics in general, or even this character in general. just everything about him in this image screams “little kid who went to hot topic to make himself look bad ass and cool”. maybe he’ll come along and be a good villain. maybe it’s just this particular image that makes him look 2edgy4u. who knows? but i look at this image, in and of itself, and find it funny how over the top THE EDGE he is.
 
and sombra did get mocked for being edgy. quite a bit too. he was actually rather unpopular until the season 5 finale came along and gave him a genuine bad-ass portrayal. tirek only got a free pass because he was a reimagining of the g1 character, but had he been just created for this show he’d have been mocked too. what’s so special about this villain that we’re not allowed to poke some fun at him?
 
besides, everyone has fun in different ways. hell, i find it confusing that people have fun reading idw!  
 
seriously though, in a thread where six people made fun of i while 20+ people are defending it (i stopped counting at 20, and yes i counted. for you. with love.) isn’t exactly as extreme of an “OH NO EVERYONE’S MOCKING IT” as some people in this thread seem to think (not you, he knows who he is).

of course we are. we’re fans of mlp first and foremost. we wouldn’t be devoting free time to help run this site if we weren’t passionate about this show, it’s characters, and the fanbase.
 
i’m actually very willing to be held to a stricter standard than everyone else, not express opinions, and no longer have any fun on this site, but i’ll expect two paychecks a month in the mail for that level of professionalism. until then, well, i’m proudly and publicly placing dear shadowlock between “ow the edge” and “let the bodies hit the floor” on the edge-o-meter:

It’s funny, really. People are calling Shadowlock edgy, and yet, Princess Luna would be considered edgy.

That anime hair and the scar on his face…He looks like the kind of pony who is all about freedom of self expression through art and violence, but also philosophical and is seemingly always deep in thought.  
Also he likes speak out against any form of religion, monarchy, and oligarchy, and believes that science is the only way forward.  
Secretly wants a mare who loves him, but he has a terribly high standards and rejects anyone who doesn’t meet all of them–and no. Being able to make spaghetti or having zero redeemable quality do not meet his standards.
 
I don’t know, he looks kind of like that to me.
