Agreed, and that especially goes for if anyone considers her treatment in To Where and Back Again with being kidnapped and being put into a cocoon again after dealing with it once before in A Canterlot Wedding.
 
I’m losing patience with how the show is treating Celestia and the other Princesses when compared to the comics and where we’ve seen Celestia kick butt in some story arcs, but is left as helpless as in the show in others.

I was waiting to see some sort of preview for Part Three of Chaos Theory, and I’m glad the first three-page iTunes preview is finally out.
 
Still, it seems as if Celestia is considering surrendering to Accord and being brainwashed by him as well. He already has Luna and Twilight, Celestia’s beloved sister and student, and the capitol, Canterlot. Celestia might as well give up and join her sister and student, unless Starlight and the rest of the Mane Six can convince her otherwise to try and find a way to turn Accord back into Discord and free everyone from his brainwashing, Luna and Twilight included.
 
Once the five-page iTunes preview comes out, we’ll see what happens next regarding Celestia and what she’s considering here.

I just hope that Starlight uses her original skillset to her advantage; this is as good a time as any to differentiate herself from Sunset in terms of character dynamic, and she does have experience in dealing with mind control.
 
Hell, if anything, these scenes on the train show just how off base Celestia is in listening to Accord’s lies. He didn’t show her a mirror of her own stick in the mud nature, he displaced an entire population center. He actually makes a solid argument for STRICTER rules and regulations to keep this from happening again.

With Starlight sitting right next to her, maybe Celestia will get her head straightened out quickly. Starlight doesn’t have a high bullsh*t tolerance, after all, and she knows just how wrong Accord’s argument is.
 
Also, damnit, the comic is very good on a visual level. I like the non-traditional panel layout here, and AJ lending her hat to the little one is just adorable.

At least that’s been cleared up. Accord is not Discord, unless this is a ruse of Inception-esque proportions. Discord tried to turn himself into his opposite, with the result of being trapped in a tiny corner of his own mind while Accord is in control.

You know, I think the main problem with the comic is that it’s got cause and effect backwards.
 
It has Discord make sad faces and seems to expect the reader to feel bad for him. Problem is, he totally brought it on himself. It wasn’t an accident, he deliberately tried to ruin what his supposed friends wanted to do right after they asked him to behave. That’s on him.
 
Now Celestia is given an existential crisis for a comment Accord made that equated “civilised society” with “mind-wipe”. Accord argues she was trying to defeat chaos, which is totally bull. She was trying to defeat evil jerks, like Discord was/is and Accord definitely is, so there is no reason for her to buy into it other than to have the standard “not so different” theme.

I think people are taking less issue with Celestia buying into it and more with the fact that the authors are using it to have her shill Discord and his marvelous new leather pants.
