Perhaps the single greatest difference with Christianity is this singular point:  
The Christian God rewards those that obey his law, but those that choose not to follow his law are free to choose the life they want to live for themselves. The only repercussions of that choice are after one’s life ends, not while we’re on Earth. The freedom to choose and be allowed to without judgement.
 
The fact a lot of Christians don’t understand their own faith on this aspect is irrelevant. Being gay might be considered a sin, but we are free to choose that life on Earth if that’s what we want. Just means you can’t be a real Christian at the same time because it’s clearly declared as against God’s law. Again, there’s no judgement given during life on Earth.
 
Meanwhile, Islam openly says to murder gays in the Quran to be a true believer. Saudi Arabia throws gays off rooftops.
