I loved the idea the way they had it. If I downvote something strictly visual, it’s probably because I don’t want to see it. Filters don’t always cut it, because then you’d have to hide everything under a certain category.
 
If you don’t like the way something looks and can’t hide it’s tag, hide it.
 
If you’re more neutral on how something looks, but feel it could be improved, comment on how it could’ve been done better. It’s literally why comments exist.

Again, never said that. I’m just saying that some freedoms don’t make a difference to me (and there are some that I’d like to make a difference, but don’t, but that’s a separate issue)

Whether or not it’s a “non-argument” - which you haven’t justified - it’s an example of why you need to define “freedom.” “Freedom” by itself just means being able to do things. And it’s also far from “last legs,” whatever your experiences from other people are.

I never said free-of-consequence, and that murder non-argument is the “last-legs” argument of everyone I’ve ever debated. There will always be consequences, for there must also always be laws to protect the innocent. That’s all they are, and it must never be anything more.

Asking who from would require asking for specifics and turning this into something political… I’m fine with it being philosophical though.

Why? I mean, some freedoms mean something to someone, but some are purely symbolic, and some are the sort where even the symbolism doesn’t matter. Hard to go into specifics sadly. More to the point, I am perfectly fine without some freedoms - like the freedom to kill people without consequence. If you have that freedom, then it means you’re living in a chaotic and lawless country. Why would I want that freedom if that’s the cost of it?
 
When you attach such un-nuanced, context unsepcific importance to the word “freedom” then you wind up sounding like the “better to rule in hell than serve in heaven” type.

I live in a country where people cry about freedoms they never had and never will have, and claim their freedoms are being infringed upon when they aren’t, especially when it comes to “free speech.” So whenever people start complaining about loss of freedoms that they and I don’t actually enjoy, I just roll my eyes and tune them out. This is also a country where freedom is more of a chant or slogan than something actually believed in or even comprehended. So if you’re going to use “freedom” as a reason for something, you’re going to have to elaborate on what you mean, because the word alone isn’t enough.
 
Also never said I didn’t like freedom… so long as it’s a freedom that actually means something.

It depends on the mod, I’ve been banned at least twice that wasn’t justified one of which another mod said they would have lifted my ban had they known that I had been banned at the time. So there are moments where they go overboard but it depends on the mod.
