He’s saying that friendship alone does not afford the same intimacy as a romantic relationship, which is true to a certain extent. Where he is mistaken, though, is how this applies to the FiM; despite none of the mane cast being romantically involved, the show is clearly not shunning romance or the intimacy that comes with it.

I was trying to make them understand the physical flaws of friendships. For example, after you hung out with your friend, he/she goes back to his own home instead of staying in yours for the rest of your life. And that will make you lonely.
Sure, I cannot deny that Friendship makes you feel that you are not alone and friends are there for you, but still, they have their own homes to live in and the only kind of person that will kiss you or live in your home forever would be your boyfriend/girlfriend/wife/husband. (At least that’s how I think)
At least Shylove understood the flaws of friendship while still having that “Friendship > Romance” mindset when it comes to MLP.

Sorry, is just that secondary characters don’t get as enough screentime as the secondary characters from The Simpsons. At least that’s how I see it. But you are right though, the show isn’t discouraging love despite secondary characters not getting all the screentime as the mane ones and the friendship between the mane six is the main definition of the show.
Really sorry for the misunderstanding and being kinda pessimistic about how friendships don’t let your friend live at your house for the rest of your life and doesn’t let a friend kiss another friend.

You’re still missing the point. FiM isn’t discouraging love by avoiding the romance angle with the mane six; in the fact, the show is doing just the opposite with all the romantic relationships established between the secondary characters. Couples such as Mr. & Mrs. Cake, Big Mac & Sugar Belle, and Bright Mac & Pear Butter all exemplify the merits of love.
Thing is, the friendship between the mane six has (on multiple occasions no less) proven to be of particular significance. At this point, it is practically a core tenet of the show.

I understand. Hence my name idea of Bonds are magic. (Which it’s too late to change its mind now that the show is about its forever-alone bond (since like I said, friendship =/= friend kiss/friend living with you forever) kind called friendship hence the name Friendship Is Magic.)
Also, the reason why I say that (about Mane 6 not making friends, which I am glad nobody said that) is because of the fact that they think the Mane 6’s friendship is a lot stronger as the show focuses on the friendships of the Mane 6.
(Which sometimes it leads to lesbian Mane 6 shipping, which it’s cool when it comes to ships like Twijack and PinkieDash (imho, same with ships I am okay with like ) as long as I or some other fans/shippers don’t treat male characters like crap just like most Flash Sentry/Spike haters does. (I know there isn’t many or something, but they still ship my NOTPs like Sunsetsparkle and Rarijack))

Again, I am not against the idea of romance in general. The show can and should define romance, but romance shouldn’t define the show. Unlike those shows, FiM has never had a romance component involving the mane cast in its entire run. Adding one in at this point after seven seasons without even a trace of one would invariably come off contrived to some degree.

I guess I have to either find a romance anime that isn’t hated by everyone or stick to Miraculous Ladybug, which I see nobody making drama out of ships. Nobody knows one show that has romance and it is done well in their eyes…

People complain about “forced romance” when they don’t seem to see how their own “anti-romance” campaigns are just as inorganic as the former.
Just let the characters be what they are! Naturally.

Don’t force them to hate romance though. Yes, shipping and romance are different things, but to me ships can imply a romance between two characters.
I wish there was some romance show that is not hated and would let us ship in peace.

That’s a normal thing irl. And it should be a normal thing for pony to have non-romantic relationships with those of their opposite genders in the show.
