boy am i glad to be part of this fantastic, high-quality fandom full of normal, intelligent, well-adjusted people who aren’t mostly just nazis and nazi sympathizers.
 

A reminder: organizing mob violence to “fight Nazis” isn’t bad because Nazis are good, but because mob vigilante violence is not conducive to a free, open, and orderly society based on the rule of law, and is actually quite corrosive to it. Even the Devil himself deserves the benefit of rights guaranteed under the rule of law - and for good reason.

What it also had was a crippling economic depression on starvation levels and a people used to great prosperity who knew that the outside world had pushed a crippling treaty on their nation when they lost The Great War that destroyed their economy.
 
They blamed those nations, the banks and businesspeople, basically they used “Jews” as communists would use “Bourgeoisie”, and wanted to return to their former imperial glory, and basically did so by getting rid of fiat currency, nationalizing the banks and restarting a national economy and jumpstarting industry. The result was going from starvation on Ethiopia levels to a serious contender for world domination in just a decade.
 
And, unfortunately, doing a lot of horrible atrocities along the way.
 
And no, they silenced free speech through mob mentality, vandalism and the like. You know, what liberals and Antifa are doing.

That’s (unfortunately) not how ideas work in the real world. Political reality isn’t a scientific journal run by a bunch of rational thinkers. It’s a propaganda mill run by a bunch of money grubbing assholes who pay a lot of money to make useful idiots think stupid things by one means or another so they can push their agenda and make more money, while constantly subverting one another by paying someone a lot of money to make useful idiots think stupid things by one means or another so they can push their agenda and make more money, all while paying someone a lot of money to make sure said useful idiots never stop being useful idiots so they can make a lot of money.
 
TL;DR: Money talks. Ideas don’t. The notion that ‘gud ideaz’ can stand on their own merit in the real world is pure ideology.
 
Seriously, it’s not rocket science, as much as some of us wish it was.

The Nazis will never be a threat in the US as long as we have the freedom of speech. As I’ve pointed out multiple times, their ideas are stupid and easily debunked, therefore they can never gain mass acceptance. The problem with antifa and their ilk is their suppression of free speech, which is the only way they can promote their own stupid ideas, by calling everyone Nazis and stopping anyone from pointing out how stupid their ideas are.
 
Free speech is the ultimate enemy of all stupid ideas.

I’m a right leaning libertarian and I don’t like how libbies are grouping me in with racists and Nazis.  
I still think the number of people (of all races) who fly the Confederate flag as a symbol of Southern pride FAR outnumber those who fly it for racism, and I’m sure that opinion would earn me a punch from one of them (and if one tried I’d send one back with interest).

Define a “legitimate” source. NYT and Washington Post have happily posted factually wrong information. Spin doctoring, taking quotes out of context - that’s their bread and butter on articles about the right.

At least the Nazis never had such power in the US. But such things are silly - neither of us lived through those things, and neither are the law of any major world power.
 
In general, arguments should stand on their own merits regardless of who gives them. Not even this is an exception in my book.

Good luck doing any forensic or medical research if you’re not allowed to say humans have genetics. You will never master psychology or sociology as fields of science if you can’t say humans are influenced by them.

Wishing the Nazis had won WWII because you like their regime and what they did, or wearing Swastikas to state your political position, that makes you a Nazi.

So not only is it wrong to use mob violence in principle, but Antifa’s not even doing it to the people they think they are.
 
You seriously cannot call someone that who believes in egalitarianism and individual rights a Nazi. German National Socialism is authoritarian.
 
Milo doesn’t like the Holocaust, and he gets very mad when people say that. He’s not a Nazi.

People who say a nation’s first responsibility is to its own citizens are not Nazis. If they start burning books, murduring people and altering the definition of being a citizen, then they’re getting there.
 
In short, Antifa is using mob violence, which makes them closer to Nazis than the people they’re calling Nazis. The difference is I doubt they’d be able to pull the country out of a depression, but if the Soviet Union or literally any other attempt at communism ever is anything to go by, they could probably horrifically commit atrocious slaughter on a larger scale if they were in power (more).
 

 
Being politically right does not make one a Nazi. “Right” is used to describe anarchists, libertarians, and authoritarian dictatorship. So it’s like saying someone is Hitler because they rule a country, but even more wrong because anarchists don’t even believe in countries.
 
I think by this point it’s just become a term for the media to throw anyone under that they don’t like, and incite chroney mob violence on them.
 

 
The thing is, though, is you (or at least Antifa) now believes anyone right at all is a Nazi. I said you should respect people’s rights and you think I’m saying Nazis are okay. It’s a knee-jerk response to alienate, dehumanize and hate people, and that sort of thing - dehumanization and hate - are what made the Nazis evil. Well, that, and removal of sacred rights and violation of egalitarian Principe (people should be judged by their own actions, not their skin color, sex, etc).
 
But what disturbs me is people who happily violate that principle, believe and propogate misinformation about people and use mob violence to silence them. That’s not okay.
 
That’s especially not okay when it comes from misunderstanding who those people are. But they don’t want to talk and clear that up, they want to use violence to silence them.
 
And they think that makes them the good guys.
