Like, I’ll be the first guy to tell you my opinion doesn’t mean shit, because opinions themselves don’t mean shit. They’re just opinions; not fact, not “right or wrong”, just a way of saying “I feel this way about something”. You can’t be right or wrong about liking the taste of beer or thinking pineapples on pizza are terrible, so how can you be right or wrong about liking a character or thinking a plot change is terrible? :P
 
When I give an opinion, I’m not even trying to convince people of anything. I’m just sharing something and, if pressed for it, trying to explain why I think that way.

So I’m not the first person to call you out for thinking that your opinions are crazy? I just have this fear that if I ever did that to someone as popular as you, I would get scolded by that person saying “LIKE YOU KNOW ANY BETTER THAN ME YOU NOBODY!” as their loyal fanbase would do the same.

I see. Personally, I don’t mind if Starlight has extended spotlight time if we can’t get more spotlight time for Celestia or the other princesses that aren’t Luna. Becoming good did come with the cost of her changing her mood from when she was a villain but I think it may have been intentional so she could reinvent herself.  
I don’t know how to answer your statement about the Changelings but while I’m fine with their reformed looks, I will agree with you that I do miss their old designs and personally, I don’t like how some of the new Changelings don’t have tails.
 
You sure? I understand what you’re trying to say and I doubt it will make me change the way I think. But I get where you’re coming from. I just feel like whenever a popular brony expresses their thoughts, everyone will take their words as the one true mentality and me choosing in not wanting to believe it also makes me think that I’m just lying to myself.

I do, but totally for largely personal reasons. With Starlight, I don’t like how she sort of just eats up the spotlight and took center stage as this “able to do all” kind of perfect character while I simultaneously really miss the evil, confident, and intelligent villain she once was. With the changelings, I find the change to their appearance and personality was a cop-out that came at the cost of a really cool design, really interesting lore, and has some kind of nasty racial undertones.

Honestly, don’t worry about things like that. Every human being thinks and sees things differently, and someone disliking something you like doesn’t take it away from you or diminish it in any way. We as individuals each seeing the world and everything in it as different is a really beautiful thing. We have ponies to begin with because some people saw potential in this franchise that others clearly didn’t see, and we all like ponies to begin with because we all see something in them that other people don’t. No two humans think the same, or like all the same things, and we should celebrate that.
 
You see something of Starlight Glimmer that I don’t; she has value to you that is lost on me. The same way I likely see value in something that you utterly hate, and we should be happy for each other because of it :D

That makes very little sense. My boyfriend even hates some things I like, and I hate some things he likes, that doesn’t mean we can’t still get along. Letting someone’s personal opinions (especially about harmless things like fictional characters) affect your view of them and what they do is rather childish. Same applies if you have friends or relationships, it’s impossible to find someone that will agree with your exact mindset, life would be boring if it was anyway.

Its not easy to follow popular bronies when you find out they hate something you like. Sorry if it sounds like a retarded reason but it just makes it harder for me to enjoy another’s work when you realize they’re not on the same mindset as you. My choices just get more and more limited with every new change the show has.
