Whatever, my dude. (I, at least from what I’ve seen, get the impression that~~) She literally blames her daughter for all the bad that has happened to her since she was conceived. “If only this bitch never was, I’d be rich and happy and successful right now, instead of living like THIS!”
 
I mean, just look at the way she is drawn. In this, and all other pictures of her as an older mare, she has these weird, darker colored eyelids. It makes her look like an old whore with bad makeup. An unpleasant bitch. None of her younger portrayals have this trait. In those, she has regular eyes and looks like a happy young mare, much like her daughter does in this pic. In those pics, she’s a cute, happy little pony. There is a marked, and obviously intentional difference in her portrayal as a happy, optimistic young mare, and a resentful, hateful “mother” who blames her lover and her child for her failure.
 
Look at Vee’s expression here. Even when her daughter loves her so completely, even when she gives her mom the intimate love of sleeping next to her, Vee has a sort of… ambivalent look on her. That is not the muzzle of a happy, loving mare. She’s an angry female who blames her child for her misfortune. At best, she is dealing with conflicting feelings; that even though she hates her daughter and blames her for her “terrible life of misfortune and suffering” she is forced to face the fact that her presence by her side makes her comfortable. At worst, Vee is already asleep, imagining the contact of some other pony that makes her feel sort of happy despite all the hatred and animosity she holds within her.
 
Whatever the case, with what I know of the two, I feel little to no compassion for Vee~~ who just sort of comes off as an angry, selfish cunt- and all the compassion in the world for Apogee, who has to deal with a mother who would rather have had her aborted. It breaks my heart to think the poor thing would have to live that reality.

I kind of commented on this in another picture, but I find it easy to imagine that Delta is stuck in a situation where she hates herself for how short she’s fallen of her youthful aspirations, and the anger over that is what causes her to occasionally lash out at others (which makes her feel worse about herself, which makes her lash out further, and so on). But I don’t think she hates Apogee. Her daughter is just a reminder of many emotional things, which makes it difficult for her at times. But then there are quiet moments like this, where her daughters love and concern for her make all those other things seem unimportant, and the two just have a moment of contentment.

“From the pain to the cure, coming from hell to a new beginning on heavens”…was what it cames to my mind when I saw this drawing. Vee had a lot to go through the hardest time to her without noticing about how her daughter would be feeling by seeing her mother like that, by watching how the hate kinda consumed her and put a stop on enjoying life as it is, as it comes…But now, she realized she can have a new beginning, she can enjoy her life along with the only pony who will love her the most, her daughter….

Fyi this pic was made by Shino for the following fic by P-Berry (non clopfic). And it deserves more views - its a good character explanation of Delta from her perspective, and how the relationship with Jet started romantic but eventually became chaotic and overly party driven.
 
It also highlights Delta’s motherly instincts. I see this in her character too… She doesn’t really know how to be a good mom, and she feels bad about it. I think she’s going to turn things around.
 
In short: be nice to Delta! She has flaws but she’s still human… Err… Pony!

I don’t think I like Vee very much. At least Apogee she has a dad who actually loves her and doesn’t resent her very existance.
