It’s not just them not knowing who she is; the mane 6 practically forget she even exists at times, even though some of them (including Sunset) have known her for years. Near the beginning of the story, for instance, the mane six leave Wallflower all alone in the dark in the yearbook office when they close up shop for the day.

By not knowing who she is? Because she hasn’t done anything to make people want to remember her (story-wise and meta-wise), that’s hardly anyone’s fault but her own. But, I guess she’s just stupid that way.

Okay… but is that really a good reason for someone to attack one person specifically? If I were in her shoes I would try to use the memory stone to manipulate people’s memories to force them to remember that I exist…
