Yes, I allready wrote REALLY hope Rising Star used his mood midifier on Twilight, or some other external mind controlish influence, but I fear this may not be the case. Especially that he aparently used Sci-Twi to build the mood modifier in the first place.
 
And really, this is a really stereotypical storyline for girl centered fiction (male antagonist seduces and uses the female protagonist), not to mention, I hoped for a less stereotypical first direct male antagonist. ( mean, Rising Star comes of as pretty much a male Femme Fatale).

Look I get that they can’t name drop all of the Mane 6 in a back description like this, but it still grinds my gears a bit because it feels like EQG keeps kinda pushing the Mane 5 to the background, usually making it “Twilight and Sunset, oh and I suppose they have some magic power batteries I mean friends too.”
 
Fortunately it seems to be changing, as Dance Magic, and Movie Magic was more focused on Rarity and Rainbow, and Mirror was more Starlight, and then you have the shorts changing things up a bit. So I’d like to hope this is rectified and more balanced out in the future as more specials come out.

Again, ad I noted in my bellow comment, this contradics all of Sci-Twi’s behaviour in all other cases.
 
And from what w know, Twilight won’t be surrounded with studs, just wil be in Rising Star’s presence.
 
Who is, like I mentioned, from a school she conciously and subconciously asociates with suffering and solitude, which in any realistic scenario, would be at least some turn of.

Well, since the thing they’re supposed to be working on together indicates it messes with people’s emotions, it does seem to be a hint that when it says Twilight falls under his spell, it means literally. I do agree that a Casanova male villain is probably a mistake though…especially since they pretty much had the female equivalent in the Dazzlings, so it’s sort of rehashing things.

I think Rising Star, is only using SciTwi for winning the contest. And it say “fall under his spell”, very magic saying. In mean, in Equestria Girls magic existed.

You did notice the thing they’re apparently working on together is some kind of mood modifier, right? I’m sure she could fall pretty fast if some minor mind control is at play.

Only that Sci-Twi, in all other interractions aside from her with her ove interests, behaved completelly differently.
 
Sci-Twi was shown multiple times having dificulties in social interactions. I mean, she couldn;t tell about her problems to neither the girls, Timber or Sunset, was noted t have dificulties to make ANY friendshio or bonds before Friendship Games, and just look how stressed she was about her date with Timber, and really didn’t exactly knew what to do. Another example is from what we saw in leaks, Twilight only will have a true conversation with Flash, and know him better, after Pinkie forces Flash and her to do so.
 
This isn’t at all how stereotypical lovesctruck teen behaves. Again being teen, doesn’t equate “stereotypical lovesctruck teen”, adnd doesn’t justify such caracterisation on a character (Sci-Twi), that otherwise beaves opposite. And not every teen is such, such assumptions, ruin a lot of teen shows.
 
Not to mention, it’s possible the writer of this book shares your mentality (ie being teen equates lovestruck teen), hence we get this atrocity of a storyline.

I agree with the part about the boys part of Twilight. Why does she get all the boys while Sunset and the other gals get left hanging?

Well, the art on the cover is character design associated with the new Equestria Girls series (which takes place after Legend of Everfree), and in Dance Magic se seemingly seen first after a long time people from her school, which Legend of Everfree implies.
 
(Again though, if this will take place before LoE, we can use the above as an argument the book is non canon…)
 
And I think my criticism still aplies if it’s before Legends of Everfree - it’s ridiculous Twilight would fall for for a guy so quickly, especially one from a school that gave her some much pain, and she asociates it with it, even kinda within this summary. And do you really think it’s a good way to introduce possibly the first direct) male villain in Equestria Girls?
 
In this case, even having a male villain, won’t be rather a possitive, as he is a very stereotpical male villain for a girl focused series - and something Lauren Faust wanted to avoid.

Really, If this ends up the case, it will arguably destroy Sci-Twi as a character, turning her into her opposite, with no character development or even trigger to explain it. Again, this meme is really stupid, but I fear fans will use this book to validate it.

A male villain in Equestria Girls? How unheard of!

Firstly, you could argue to book takes place before LOE so she wouldn’t have even met Timber her  
Secondly, the books aren’t canon so ,unless this is one of this based on an upcoming special, we shouldn’t worry  
However, I think we can all agree that the writers can do better than this tripe (don’t even get me started on that RD sport book)
