As Nick Confalone said, “Appreciating that YOU appreciate that Wall-flower didn’t turn into a kaiju-demon-stomper threatening to devour the school. Sometimes the biggest stakes are invisible. “

The Sirens had gemstones. If they get new gemstones, they are replacements, regardless of whether the new gemstones duplicate what the old ones did.
@punzil504
No it isn’t. Again, you said they were replaceable. If they get their specific powers from those gems, then those gems can’t be replaced. Any magical artifacts that they may later find would not be replacements, they would be alternatives at best.
Look, if the concern is the “Magic gemstones can be replaced” comment, I did not specify what “replacement” meant. If Aria Blaze stole Rainbow Dash’s pendant, she would be attempting to replace her own, no?
@Ihhh
I don’t. But I’m stubborn and this argument is bothering me more that it should.
The Dazzlings lost their powers when the Rainbooms shattered their stones.
There are potentially other stones or objects with other powers that the Dazzlings could find and get new powers with, considering Gloriosa, Juniper, and Wallflower managed to do this.
@Ihhh
Then why did the Sirens’ powers go away when the stones shattered? The magic appeared to be tied to the gemstones, even though said stones were part of their bodies before they crossed through the portal.
@punzil504
I agree, but that is not what you said. You said, And I quote, “gemstones… acted as the foci for their powers” which is not how magic works in that multiverse.
@Ihhh
Yes, their stones are gone. Wallflower’s stone is gone. They can find a way to get their hands on something else with new and specific powers, considering that Equestria seems to use their world as a magical dumping ground for unwanted magic.
@punzil504
That has never been how magic gemstones in the show have worked. Every magical artifact has been shown to be unique and have specific powers.
