Later Seasons but as a whole, it was really inconstant. On top of that when you watch the scene it doesn’t help much either because you do see her moving her hoof from bottom to top. (If I remember correctly)
There IS some consistency, especially in later seasons, but there ARE some symbols here which haven’t been seen before.
The problem is the show is very inconstant and this isn’t made of your typical writing either.
Other eps disprove that (See the haiku)
Considering that the words point upwards, it may suggest that Equestrian paragraphs (or even sentences) are read from down to up.
