When I saw the effect in the leaked Episode I figured it was a placeholder for an involved effect to be drawn in later. But here it is in the preview.
 
Maybe it’s still using the placeholder for some reason and the episode has fire closer to the rest of the show.

This is one of the few episodes that are going to break head canons this season. Lots of them, I guess. I’m not that familiar with most of Spike’s fan canons but I’ve always assumed people would be happy to see how he gets wings. Smolder explains how it works too in episode. They also talk about greed induced growth among dragons.

Kinda makes sense that he gets used to them faster than Twilight though, since we now know its a natural part of all dragons to grow them, it means the instict was there. As a unicorn, Twi was never meant to naturally have wings, so she struggled much more to adapt. I guess?

How many times we say that about Ember is Spike’s love interest? Just because see we see Spike interact with a female of the same species doesn’t mean anything gonna happen between them. I see this leaked episode and I don’t mean to disappoint you but Smolder didn’t even appeared for the rest of the episode.

If Spike gets wings, does that mean he gets to become a princess like Twilight?
