Which implies possible redemption in the future to make up for the cruddy excuse of a plot twist. (Her having nothing to do with Neighsay, and being a manipulative villain working with Tirek and then getting sent to Tartarus, which is what she wanted.)

Maybe she doesn’t even have any parents. If she was able to ruse Twilight, Glimmer, the Princesses, and practically an entire school there is no telling who or what she even is.

Plot Twist, her parents actually knew she was evil which was why they sent her to the Friendship school in the first place. It was actually written on her transfer sheet, next to “Has a peanut allergy”, was “Is actually pure evil”.
In the hopes that the school could help open her up to a different way of life, and maybe convince her that being good was worth giving a go.
Alas, it sounds like it’s not worked…at least yet. She could still possibly make a heel-face turn further down the road, if she ever wants to try (and assuming she doesn’t pass any moral event horizons before then).

Discord was manipulated into redemption by Fluttershy recognizing that he was lonely more than anything. Discord is just too prideful to admit he really wants friends.
How can anyone make an argument that someone doesn’t deserve to be redeemed in FIM when DISCORD THE LORD OF CHAOS was redeemed. The dude that ruled what would be Equestria for who knows how many hundreds of years.
