That’s how I feel about season 3. They pulled more off more substantial character growth in 13 episodes than some of the other seasons have with 26.

Meh.

May as well do my breakdown of the episodes (scale is meh, then okay, then good, then great, then excellent, and then exceptional as the 6-star ranking)  
School Daze - exceptional (best season premiere, tied with seasons 2 and 5 in that regard)  
The Maud Couple - good  
Fake It ‘Til You Make It - on the borderline of good and okay  
Grannies Gone Wild - okay  
Surf and/or Turf - exceptional (favorite episode of the first half of the season)  
Horse Play - excellent  
The Parent Map - good  
Non-Compete Clause - good  
The Break Up Break Down - great  
Molt Down - great  
Marks for Effort - excellent  
The Mean 6 - great  
A Matter of Principals - excellent  
The Hearth’s Warming Club - exceptional

Also, I hope there are a G5 Celestia and Luna (Or at least an equivalent thereof) Even if there isn’t it should still be interesting, but I want to see these two.

It’s a toss up between 6 and 8 for worst season of the series. 6 had the most bad episodes of any season, but also had a few truly great ones as well.
 
8 has just been totally forgettable. Not as many bad episodes as 6 but no truly great ones. It’s the first time I’ve found myself losing interest in the show. Guess that’s what happens when you throw in 6 new characters and only one of them (Gallus) is any good.
 
I’m glad the shows ending next season. Just give the mane 6, cmc, and Spike the satisfying endings they deserve. Starlight too. I’m still not big on her but she’s been around long enough to have earned a satisfying conclusion to her story.
