Apparently there are no brakes on this train. At this point, I feel like people think that if they keep wishing really hard it’ll come true.
 
We live in a society where affectionate gestures between friends are encouraged as a good way of expressing yourself. To then have exactly this sort of behavior immediately be indicative of being in a relationship is sending the wrong message.
 
Stop assuming your ships are canon. Please. I don’t really care if you think that there’s “obvious romantic undertones” because it’s amazing how easy it is to see that kind of thing when you go looking for it. It’s not canon if it’s never brought up. AJ and Rarity never once did anything exclusively romantic and nobody commented on it. No kiss. No “I love you.” No confirmation from the staff.
 
I would have liked to see it happen too, but the fact remains that it didn’t happen.

Tecnically, Ruby and Sapphire don’t count. They’re gems. Even if their phisical forms are female shape, they have no genres.
