So, the reference to Pony!Twilight being late for the fourth movie because of Glim-Glam’s time shenanigans in Equestria Girls and the Dazzlings’ blatant appearance in Friendship in Magic isn’t enough?
My stance is that it’s a meaningless gesture if it’s canon or not. They’re going to be separate things anyhow and they’re not prevalent in anyway in the show nor even in some of the official content. The sirens were the same tier as flash sentry the guard, nothing really major. The show treated them as a generic monster, we were never told where they went nor did Twilight say anything about it. So canon or not it doesn’t really matter to me, it won’t impact the show and its lore.

So ignore facts because they’re inconvenient to you. That’s pretty much what i got from you and i mean no offence by this but it just sounds ridiculous to me.
I personally think of them as canon to the same universe. Only because the sirens were shown being banished by Star Swirl and the Pillars. Otherwise I would have considered them separate universes.

I think you all misunderstand. Most of those who don’t consider the events of EG canon to FiM are fully aware of the references and the staff’s stance on it, we just don’t care. EG is not what we came to this series for, and in truth, trying to consider it’s happenings canon to FiM complicates things unnecessarily thanks in no small part to how much of a mess EG’s universe is as a spin-off/mirror universe to FiM.
At any rate, all references in FiM to EG can be easily written off as no more than continuity nods, and at the end of the day the two universes remaining staunchly separate makes things far more palatable.
No, no I don’t. The writers have mercifully kept FiM separate from its stories, and honestly it works much better for the two to be completely disconnected.
