Justice. Remember that? Pisses me off when people think the criminals deserve a second chance when their victims were not. It implies that the criminals are more important than the victims.
 
Any ruler who protects criminals and villains is not only unfit to rule, but is just as much or more of a threat to the citizens they are meant to protect as the criminals and villains they are meant to be protecting everyone from.

No, starlight’s actions were motivated by a combination of underestimating Twilight’s importance, and simple vengeance, whilst Cozy’s were motivated by a lust for power and wanting to rule Equestria. Starlight asked for forgiveness once she realized how dangerous her actions were, whilst Cozy outright denied reformation.

They put a child into Tartarus. But not Starlight?  
Either she’s a splinter of Discord which achieved consciousness, or the audience has it right: Starlight subverted the monarchy.

Heh Tartarus, as presented by the show, literally looks like a big empty cave with a bunch of metal cages and a big happy 3 headed dog watching the place. There’s gotta be more to the place, right?
