Pretty much. I will say she’s been better since season six. Twilight has this odd mom/friend thing going with Starlight that I find kind of adorable. Basically she’s Celestiaing.

Those are not consequences. She was not forced to relearn how to be a good pony. She was given a place to live, and offered lessons. She did it all voluntarily, and could have just left if she felt like it. Heck, she could have even gone back to the town she’d help build and been welcomed back.

I wouldn’t know how, since I’m literally describing the reasoning of pretentious and entitled people. Now, individuals might have different reasons, but collectively those who dislike Starlight tend to recite the same reasons.

She faced consequences for her action though. she had to deal with her new unfamiliar life with a completly shattered worldview. start all over by following Twilight’s bullshit method. being a Twilight’s pet project. season 6 was all about that. she could’ve left but she endured all of this because she trusts her mentor and distruts herself. her backstory is not just exist for making an excuse for her action either. it was never about that. it was a showcase of how Starlight Glimmer’s mind works and what drove her to does her things. which even Twilight found ridiculous at first. they never really have justified her past actions.

It would have helped if she wasn’t so clearly favored over literally every character you just mentioned. Those other characters had consequences for their actions. But, you know, Glimmer had trouble making friends when she was little so it was perfectly okay to start a cult and abuse time travel to ruin Twilight’s life and by extension literally everypony she ever saved.
 
Mind you, I don’t hate Glimmer. She’s grown on me over time and I am fine with her being a reoccurring character. But the reason other people hate her is because she had a badly botched introduction to the cast and was subsequently shoved in our collective faces by a tone deaf writing staff.

Hellsing ultimate abridged huh? Pretty clever and subtle.

Dude, if you can forgive Discord, Trixie, Sunset Shimmer, Diamond Tiara, Silver Spoon, the Dazzlings, the Crystal Prep students, ect. why can’t you guys get over this character?
