The scene people kept bringing up with Twilight looking at the Ladybug in the Breezie episode was just a few seconds long and even I, an avid watcher of the show, forgot about it. The show has been running for 9 years and has been through many different writers, mistakes are bound to pop up. Even one person can make a little mistake like this. It’s really no big deal.

I’m assuming they headcanon had them eventually find the right spell to turn her back into an adult. That or the age potion wore off and/or caused her to go back to normal within a short amount of time.

Normally, yes, but perhaps after the effect wore off, she grew, but at a slow pace, like day-by-day instead of the usual rate of growth. So she’d be back at normal size in a matter of days instead of years.
Still plenty of time for that event to happen, though.
