I wish the show good luck as well, but still i dont understand italian! XD
I wonder, if i can make a pony show, more like an anime, full of action (No the DB action) characters and a little more mature themes (maybe like some of Digimon tamers?) people will like it?
@Sketchbookguy27
First things first, props for acknowledging that both MLP and FF were designed for children, and that there’s nothing inherently wrong with that. I tend to see that a lot regarding shows with pastel horses that aren’t MLP, and the first thing I want to scream is “why can’t we just like both shows?”
The thing about FF and the worries about a second season, though, is that Dracco is not in a good state financially. A lot of money was put into trying to get this show off the ground, and the company’s been in an ongoing legal battle with one of their distributors over continuing to sell merchandise past their license throughout this entire development cycle.
I genuinely want to see FF succeed, for Dracco’s sake. It’s a genuinely cute show, that’s managed to find a niche fanbase that’s been willing to wait for just shy of 5 1/2 years.
@kitsune-sama
Time will tell. MLP from all things i have seen in the media have a good balance between comedy, character and lets say action. Back whent it start i was one of those who say: bah, really? and here i am, i like the show, FF has so much more to see in MLP, if i were them i just take what makes MLP great and put it all in good episodes and characters hoping people will like it.
One not that great part of MLP is that is for kids, that means no more serious themes to explore, and i’m not saying gore, rapes and all the things a good fandom has, lose a friend, accept irremediable things. face a situation not just with a hug and everything will be fine. things closer to the real.
A 8 years old boy/girl start watching MLP in 2010 by now it will be a young adult, and giving 9 seasons if you know things will go that far, you can come up with good stuffs.
Yeah, Funtasia is in a weird spot for me. There’s a lot this show just does horribly - things like trees, walls, foliage look outright atrocious, and even for a cartoon physics can just up and throw itself out the window - but there’s a lot this show does that I feel manages to surpass MLP, past the first few episodes.
Which, I have to say, as an FF fan, no one in the fandom seriously expects FF to overtake MLP. We didn’t even think this show would ever actually come out less than a month ago, and right now hoping for a second season is basically a pipe dream.
So I just spent the last hour checking out this Filly Funtasia, I must say I vastly prefer your horse’s smile. I’ll check on them again maybe sometime later.
@Dsiak
Do you really think that just because you have an idea, it belongs to you? Iron man ref.
i dont know much about it, i saw a few things around here and seach for it. the good thing? its 3D and ponyos. the no so good thing? they are even more basic. like a warm glass of coke.
Wait, wait a sundamn minute. What is this Filly Funtasia? What is this heresy? What is this knock off shown and how long has it been on air? Are you trying to oof me? I swear to the sun and moon in the sky I’ll oof you to the next week if you don’t start explaining yourself right now you silly pone.
@Thunder_Arch
indeed the shapes are something, I always thought that the design of MLP is very simple, especially the hind legs, from the anatomical point of view, it is a nightmare. but you can handle it. and them these ponyos came to the scene. more simplistic legs and the nostrils are just details. still have some good designs in the hair and scenes.
@Sketchbookguy27
Don’t get me wrong, you did well, but my eyes hurt when I see how they totally messed up models in that creepy show
No nostrils, enormous hooves(that are probably magnetic hooves as far as I’ve seen) and so on…
