I generally ment “virtue signaling” in MLP. MLP used to be ethier neutral or even a bit critical (The Cutie Map) towards political corectness. But in the new episode, they decided to go full on woke.

No, what they’re doing is talking about the results of a study that looked at children’s television programming across 8 countries and determined that there is a significant lack of gender balance and diversity being presented. Which is actually something that should be fairly obvious to the people here, since Friendship is Magic garnered attention as far back as its debut for being a show where most if not almost all the main characters were female, and with a variety of personalities beyond “likes girl stuff” to boot.
 
They also aren’t complaining about MLP. They bring it up as a way of illustrating one of the issues in the study, specifically that in shows with female characters, they are far more often (than male characters are) depicted as solving problems with magic rather than using logic or math or other methods of that type. And while admittedly it is a bit contentious of an example to use since anyone familiar with Twilight knows her tendency for study and research, the problem remains that she’s still kind of an outlier amid many other (less arguable) examples, from both her own and other shows.

I’ve been dealing with SJWs and leftist activists for roughly 3-4 years now and I can tell you some stories of heartfelt genuine attempts at reasoning with them. And let me tell you, they want nothing to do with it. To them, you are either their ally or their enemy, no middle ground.
 
You can’t reason with the unreasonable. It’s like trying to break a brick wall with a toothpick. While many stories like this one aren’t worth the effort responding to or critisizing, I agree that drawing attention to the truly detrimental actions they try to enact should be called out. But there are just too many instances of just plain stupidity like this that aren’t worth getting worked up over. Remember to pick your battles.

So CBC news is complaining about MLP characters using magic to solve conflicts in a show called “FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC” while also complaining about male characters using logic to deal with their issues. All while complaining about how there aren’t enough wahmen, minorities, and disabled people leading these shows.
