It makes sense to me. It’s not rocket science. There’s a difference between making a little reference to another series and having callbacks to something in this series. Other series do the same with other material as well. The main source material is type A canon while others are further down the ladder and are type B canon.

Well, for someone who never seen more than 10 first episodes of that snorefest, I know that there was something going on between Pearl and Rose as well as between those 2 characters that were Garnet. I have no further info on those characters, but this is what they seem to be best known for.

Yes, I agree that their deaths should have been stated outright. But for whatever reason, it wasn’t (I can only assume that some of the higher-ups probably didn’t want an explicit talk of death in the series). What we got, while not perfect, is still enough.
 
I wasn’t actually talking about the comics. I was talking about one of the books. The Riddle of the Rusty Horseshoe book explained why Scootaloo isn’t seen with her parents often and it’s where her aunts debuted first.
 

 
And the comics are indeed canon. The basic rule Hasbro has is that whatever appears in the comics are canon unless the show contradicts said material. For example, the comics revealed to us the Pillars before they appeared in the show.
 
Likewise, while the show has contradicted the comics sometimes, it does still have occasional subtle references to it here and there. For example in the comics, Babs Seed showed interest in hair styling. Later on, the show reveals that she gets scissors for a Cutie Mark. Likewise, some of the things Fluttershy knitted in the comics later appeared in the show.
 

 
I feel the same applies to the books as well. For example, the book Pinkie Pie and the Rockin’ Pony Party brought up the names of Pinkie Pie’s family members which were later used in the actual series. Not only that but the book also brought up that Pinkie had an older sister as well, long before Maud actually appeared in the series.
 

 
So with that being said, I do think the idea of Scootaloo living with her aunts has weight to it unless the show itself contradicts it later on.
 
As for Steven Universe, I don’t really feel like it makes as big of a deal of gay couples and characters like you’re making it out to be. In fact, a few of its bigger couples are heterosexual ones (Greg/Rose, Steven/Connie, and Lars/Sadie). Also, quite a lot of people didn’t know that some of the characters in the series were gay and were even denying it until later episodes proved otherwise, so I feel your argument kind of falls flat.

The writers of that PPG episode didn’t want propaganda or a trans message. Cartoon Network pulled that excuse as a ratings ploy and it later backfired in their faces since many people hated the episode, trans people included.
 
Also, nice try. I’ve seen people on here that dislike Sunset Shimmer. In fact, I’ve seen quite a few people downright hate her and anything EQG related.

MLP literally is a show that teaches kids messages. That’s the core of the show. Honestly, MLP is preachier with its messages than Steven Universe is since it downright tells the audience what the characters learned by having the characters explain the message.

#1. The writers didn’t even write it to be “trans representation”. It was literally a cheap marketing ploy someone at CN came up with themselves.

Comics are non cannon, which means it could as well not exist entarly.
 
There is diffrent between propaganda and representation. LGBT people WANT to be concidered normal. That’s why shows like Steven Universe, which makes big effin deal out of people’s sexuality is bad. Generally, if you are someone like me (Who seen only 10 episodes of SU) and you are able to tell which characters are gay, it’s bad. Because that’s the first thing that comes to your mind. Now, look at good LGBT representation in media. Millena in Mortal Kombat. What’s the first thing you think off when you look at her? Surely not that she is Bisexual. She looks like a vicious monster and a psyhopath.
 
I complain about any politics in the show, even if I agree with it. Entertainment isn’t place for propaganda. If you want to take a certain issue, and look at it from all diffrent directions, then it’s alright. But when you are just represeinding one side “All LGBT people are perfect and good” then we get into some issues :/

AJ’s parents are dead. Not only have the people working on the show said it outright but they’ve also hinted at it multiple times throughout the series (e.g. the two shooting stars in Apple Family Reunion, them saying that all of Applejack’s relatives were in that reunion in that very episode without AJ’s parents to be seen anywhere in said reunion, Applejack saying that their parents would be so proud if they were here when Applebloom got her Cutie Mark, Granny Smith being the sole caretaker of the family, and them not showing the parents outside of a flashback). They never used the term “dead” or “passed away” but it’s clear as day that they’re gone. We have the answer to that one.
 
The answer for Scoot’s parents haven’t been answered in the show but one of the books answered it. They’re busy and constantly work so Scoot lives with her aunts. It would be nice if we got to see that in the show but for now, we actually do have an answer for that one as well.
 
As for Marble Pie, yes, I agree that it would be nice if we got an answer for that.

Do you complain about propaganda whenever you see politics that you agree with in a show or is it only when it happens to politics that you happen to disagree with?
 
Also, while LGBT issues are political, I think it honestly really shouldn’t. Most LGBT people just want to be accepted like anyone else instead of being discriminated. And a good way to help with that is normalizing it. Steven Universe isn’t a perfect show but I still found it enjoyable and it has helped pave the way for LGBT characters in animated series.

There is no character in this show that is “universally loved.” Every single one of them has their own fair share of people that dislike them. I have seen people who dislike Marble, I’ve seen people who dislike Trixie, I’ve seen people who dislike Derpy, I’ve seen people who dislike the Cutie Mark Crusaders, I’ve seen people dislike Celestia, I’ve seen people who dislike Luna, and I’ve seen people that dislike each one of the Mane 6.

It’s only 7th episode of the season and yet it’s second Yona episode. It’s her 3rd or 4th centred episode over all and she did not improve in any way since “School Days”. So instead of dedicating last season to characters universally loved, they are going to waste thier time on trying to make boring characters likeable.

Alright, my turn.  
My first post was about how quality of MLP lose of quality control. We always had episodes inspired by 3rd party things, but only in past few seasons (coughPerfect Pear*cough) we got straight rip-offs of well known stories, with no “artistic value” in them.
 
I do post on the “Gamergate” thread, because it is then thread where you post about anticonsumer thing.
 
I hope that this episode turns out better than I expect it to. I don’t like being right in my predictions. As I said before, I think that “She’s all yak” would be a much better idea if it was about SandbarXOcellous (still no idea how to type her name) as those characters fit more personality wise. We don’t need another “learn to like yourself” episode. We had almost the same lesson with “This isn’t the mane thing about you”. “Learn to live with how you look and love it”. Having the same lesson being repeated once again, makes no sense and only wastes one of our last episodes on a pointless filler episode.
