Hominy Grits: “Your honor, I may just be a simple country lawyer, but even I know that a court of law depends on a careful examination of the evidence and facts of the case. Diamond Gavel: “Objection! Your honor, I will not stand for superfluous characterization-”
Hominy Grits: “Now I do apologize. The same question, please, absent the part about her being a cold blooded killer.”
Diamond Gavel: “Your honor!”
Judge: “Mr. Grits, please save the dramatics for the trial. Now, would the defense counsel please answer the question.”
Diamond Gavel: “Your honor, this rat has been a cherished family pet for many years and-”
Hominy Grits: “So cherished that the filly thought shooting it would be fun? An interesting manner of play your client has.”
Diamond Gavel: “Your honor if these interruptions continue I will file papers to have this entire farce thrown out right now!”
Judge: “No more of that Mr. Grits. Last warning.”
Hominy Grits: “I’m sorry your honor. I’m just so worked up over this baseless attack on the dedicated mares and stallions who enforce the law in our community. The idea of throwing out a case… with eyewitness accounts of trained officers of the law and no evidence saying otherwise? Why, if we let everyone off who might be innocent, where would our justice system be?”
