That’s more or less what I felt about the whole deal. It’s such a shame that it was addressed so late in the series though. I would have loved to see her family appear more often.

Yes and no imo.  
This fandom has a lot of great things and art, but I must say when it comes to Scoot, most of the theories are so painfully sad/cruel. And not only about her, I remember theories about Fluttershy being orphan back in 2011,the same with Trixie and other minor characters.

I fell in love with Scootaloo initially because I took in the fandom’s idea of her being a crippled orphan. She is the reason I started to really like Rainbow Dash. But I love Scootaloo too much to be mad that she has parents. She deserves awesome parents and they finally gave them to her. They even gave her loving aunts. Scootaloo has a family. She deserves to be happy and I’m so happy for her. I want her to have this.

Yeah i mostly knew about “Scotaloo is an orphan” theory. I didnt like that theory. I always just thought they are away. When Lauren Faust said the same i liked that. You can tell me about the most interesting theories. I am kinda curious.

Yes, haha, obviously things were never going to be as bleak as fans jokingly theorized, but Scoots parents being amazing scientist adventurers that she just NEVER MENTIONED is equally as ridiculous.

Suprisingly this episode confirmed my headcanon (Scootaloo having parents, but they’re mostly away). So I feel pretty good about the episode^^

Seems like most of you only new about the mean-spirited fanon stuff. I’ve seen a good amount of more creative ideas about Scootaloo’s parentage or lack there of, and it’s sad seeing it officially debunked.
 
Not to mention I liked the feeling that there was an element of darkness to this universe that simply wasn’t front and center. Plus it added some interesting variety to living situations of the cast.

You thought they were cruel? I got into the fandom just a few years ago and as a latecomer who had no idea where the community was coming from I thought the fandom had a hard on for torturing Scootaloo.
