Wait, seriously!? Dragons? I love dragons lol. Do you know what kind of project she is working on with that? Series, movie, etc??  
It is honestly nice that they hired her. It shows that Boulder is pretty humble, and knows when they need to bring in help to get things right.

Makes sense she would only work in the 2021 movie, since she has a personal project involving dragons and presumably prefers to freelance in order to have enough experience to get this project greenlighted.

I think one of her friends mentioned that while she isn’t working on any G5 series, she is working on the 2021 movie!! I’d love to see her art on screen!

If Imalou actually is working at the G5 movie (we don’t exactly know, we only know she’s working in a Hasbro movie), it is the best thing ever. Mainly because she makes small eyes (there’s a few sketches of hers in which the characters are drawn with small eyes) look adorably good!

I know Boulder will do just fine, they seem to understand what they’re working on. And Imalou (also known as ImalouArt) is an artist whose fanarts are like 3D works! She’s pretty talented. I’ve even spent the last few weeks guarding the fanarts of hers whose styles seem to deviate a little from the G4 style!

Also why I think alot of what we saw in the emails got the chopping block. DHX probably helped form the general idea of what MLP 2021 looks like, but let’s face it, if Boulder is taking charge, they are taking charge. These are going to be Boulder’s and Meghan McCarthy’s character designs, not DHX’s.  
Who is Imalou, BTW? I have heard alot about them, but dont know much.

Amazing World of Gumball had some seriously great character designs, and seriously diverse designs.  
I am expecting good things with Rarity lol. She seems to be popular with Boulder, maybe even their favorite!  
And seriously, why is hardly anyone in our fandom communicating with Boulder?  
We keep asking DHX staff, who have all repeatedly said they were not involved with anything beyond season 9. But you know who is?  
Boulder is! But we don’t communicate with them like we do with DHX.

It’s best that they worked on the series why waste your time finding a location for a movie studio for the film of nobody picking up the positions and you a have a year and a half for G5 merch to hit

Well, the emails mention that the designs chosen would be adjusted by the folks at Boulder Media (since they’re the ones who are animating). Some speculate the character design they hired was Imalou, who freelances at Boulder and lives relatively closer (I don’t know if she lives in France or Ireland). Hiring an artist from DHX would mean Hasbro would have to spend money on travel expenses, since communicating via email would not be practical as there are things that cannot be described with email and more information could be leaked.

Really weird then that they just hired a new artist to start making concept art. I feel like for a film releasing in 2 years, that would be done already. Seriously, still worried the film will be delayed.

I believe the only participation DHX Media had in the early pitch for G5 was an indirect one through its artists, who probably did nothing besides submitting concept arts for characters and backgrounds (probably using descriptions given by the folks from Hasbro). If an artist from DHX had been chosen to be the lead designer for G5, they probably would be working under Hasbro.

Actually, that is only partly accurate. They have not done a full CGI fil before, but they did animate AWOG, which mixed 2d, live action, puppets, and CGI together, and is still one of the more uniquely and expertly animated shows out there.

I think…Boulder was bought in like, 2015, and I think they decided not to renew their contract with DHX in 2017.  
DHX denying any involvement with MLP past season 9 is interesting. They genuinely do not seem to he involved, so I still feel like either the leaker was being misleading (Which, let’s be honest would be like saying the sky is blue.) or maybe even that Hasbro either turned down the G5 pitch or it has been substantially altered…

The concept arts for G5 were spread between DHX and Boulder (obviously, only the DHX half leaked), but Boulder was decided to be the animation studio since… Well, when they decided to make another movie?

Pretty sure Paramount will distribute (and nothing besides it) all of Hasbro’s movies… That’s probably why the upcoming movie will be CGI, since Paramount doesn’t want nothing to do with 2D movies. As a fan who loves to kave knowledge about voice acting (both English and non-English), the best part of it is that I can speculate on the dubbing studio they plan to use in certain countries.
