I’d be disappointed if she flew. We’d no longer have a main character with a disability. Why does her not being able to fly make her any less to people?
It’s not that. Fans want her to have something nice because they like her, not because they like her less if she can’t fly.

You’re right, but with the way the show was handled, I’m willing to bet that if the writers thought that a good enough number of fans wanted that, that is what they would’ve done.

It’s because different people see different outcomes as satisfactory. It’s a high fantasy, so they may think that anything other than her being able to ’be fixed is disappointing. Other think that the idea of her needing to be fixed is wrong. There are several ways to think of this as good or bad and all of them are valid.
