@Beau Skunky
It also didn’t help that for the Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon comic, DT & SS were still two of most disliked characters at the time. So it was clear that the artists were trying to butter us up with cameo ponies as a way to like the comic.
@Beau Skunky
I started noticing this a couple of years ago that references of being judged based on what it is referencing and not how it’s referenced.
I remember when the show referenced winter is coming I saw someone saying that internet references is an automatic no
@Red-Supernova
I understand, (I’ll even admit some like the Mabel from “Gravity Falls” pony were too blatant) though still some fans freaked out even if there was only one cameo/reference in the comic/show, so even the backlash was overkill.
So it’s a shame the comics/show are too afraid to reference hardly anything now. Though, maybe that’s changed with this.
@Beau Skunky
We thought the cameo ponies in the Twilight & Shining Armor comic and the Diamond Tiara & Silver Spoon comic were overkill even for the fandom, that’s why they were met with backlash.
@Delta Brony
NO. Let’s not. Let us not Bayblade. Let us not do such things.
@Beau Skunky
I remember one of the pages from the first issue was for the preferences.
Also fans do you need to be careful what you wish for. Wishes do have grey areas
@northern haste
Yeah, I remember the comics had more blatant references for a brief period, >>595685>>1273169 which was met with backlash. Now the comics hardly reference anything, and now fans miss the references.
