The series isn’t producing new episodes and hasn’t been for a while. The fandom is different, though – people will make stuff for it as long as they’re driven to and the world’ll keep on turning.

Same here, but that’s why I don’t think it will be better than G4.  
Probably it will politically charged, like most of shows nowadays.

I was here for a decade.

Unfortunately, resting in peace is already not an option for this show. Just look how many other IPs have sprung up featuring the same kind of dynamic or flavor, like a mutated MLP clone that wasn’t made quite right. Some are interesting takes on the magical unicorns and rainbows that grow into their own thing like Star Vs the Forces of Evil, which started as something pretty meh to become quite good, while other shows feature a perfect flying magical cat with a unicorn horn that just needs to be put down.
 
But, MLP has left its mark on our culture, which is just about as good as you can get when it comes to a show about magical talking animals that have stories centered around morality plays.

I think this is the right time to listen to this

I’ve mostly enjoyed it.
 
I can only hope Gen 5:  
-Isn’t politically charged  
-Isn’t animated poorly  
-has good stories

They’re supposed to be numbered in accordance with the main comic series, I don’t think they’ve said where the story will pick up from though

Except it is dead. There’s nothing wrong with liking a dead series and of course you can still draw fanart for it or whatever but it doesn’t change the fact that it’s dead.

I don´t care for the Comics, but I am also not one of the People that thinking a product is dead because there is no new material being produced.
 
If this is all the fandom can do I am dissapointed.

G4 can continue with the IDW comics but not for the show itself.

Honestly this is the high end of what I wanted the show to last, almost a decade is a good run and despite my qualms with the finale I had fun start to finish

Technically, it’ll never truly die. The impact it’s left in our lives and hearts, not to mention the countless fandom creations it’s inspired, FIM (and EQG) will live on for many years even after the show wraps.
