Hasbro obviously feels like there is room for more story, so do the writers for the new stuff and the writers for the comics. I just wonderwhat that looks like…

If G5 is happening, it will be more like FiM to EQG than G3 to G4. Same characters, same personalities, just a different world.  
Though, with G4 clearly not done until 2021, I wonder what they have planned…

Theory: Gen 5 will actually be a sort of continuation of Gen 4. Remember how the villains said it was so easy to get the species against each other and it never came back? Well, what if something happens in the future that turns all of them against each other. It gets to a point where they use magic to separate the world into different worlds with different species on each one, with the tree of harmony acting as the gateway between them. Then, millennia later, the mane 6 + spike are reborn ala Legend of Zelda and have to reunite the torn world
