We don’t even know what the spell would’ve done. It’s true it turned Sombra into shadows, but it might have reacted differently to Cozy Glow. It could’ve sent her back to Tartarus.
True, plus if you think about it, since they can turn her to shadow they can probably turn her back.
It is like sending someone to their room only you literally blast them into the shadow realm.
Which would make sense, since they didn’t have the heart to kill a filly. Not to mention, Cozy Glow was not gonna surrender.

Also Luna and Celestia- “Get dusted, you fucking ankle muncher!”
I think Celestia and Luna tried to use the same banishing spell on Cozy Glow, which they used on Sombra.
