Let’s calm down here. Neither of you work for Hasbro, or even in animation. Neither do I. Fact is, we do not know. Any of us could be right, or none of us. It is alot of fun speculating and trying to put the pieces together, but let’s not start slapping eachother here.

Oh, okay, I got lost there lol.
And yeah, that change with the writers was jarring lol. I honestly preferred the movies, though SBP was really fun, and Forgotten Friendship was really good.
@AspectofBlood21
I meant the Digital series not the toys and it’s going to be harder to find a lead writer. The main problem is they never brought back the Lady Writers(who did the screenplay for Legend of Everfree)for the specials and shorts.

Seems like Hasbro isn’t, for sound reasons. EQG is Hasbro’s only native “human doll” line. If they move on from it, they surrender whatever money they make from it to other toy companies. This is a toy business, after all, not an entertainment one.
@Background Pony #C847
Yeah, honestly I could see that working well!!
Personally, it would be nice for a finale and a sequel series. I havent been in High school for years, I’m in college. It might be nice for the part of the fans who grew up with EQG if the girls moved into a college situation.
Also, going to go buy those now lol.
@AspectofBlood21
Hmm, maybe if they changed the pitch just a little bit then it wouldn’t be rejected, the Graduation could be the 100-Min Finale, with the Season slowy leading up to that dropping bits & hints about every once in a wheil.
@Background Pony #C847
Hmm. Well, it could happen, though…
DHX, the company doing EQG in the past, has ceased all production of EQG and moved on. Boulder is now in charge of EQG, and it is honestly unlikely they will do the same thing DHX was doing. And for the better, a transition from DHX to Boulder already means a guaranteed animation and artstyle change. Plus, after the season 3 pitch was rejected, Confalone just moved on. A new writer would be required.
Better is the choice to simply transition the series to Boulder. They have already evidently decided to keep the EQG story going, along with all the characters.
As for a story that spans seasons, let’s break down the EQG series.
Season 1 and 2 had completely different focuses and stories. Season 1 was about friendship and magic leaking into the human world. Season 2 went in a different direction trying to make the humane 7 into super heroes. Season 3 would have taken things into another new direction with a graduation story. Nothing really building, not like Twilight growing from student, to equal, to princess, to teacher, to ruler.
From the toys, it looks like Boulder is taking the premise of the EQG series, that magic is coming into the human world, and developing that into their focus. We have the writer of the Sunset’s Backstage Pass, which featured really good character writing and development.
@AspectofBlood21
I for one hope for it not to be an EQG-Life but just the regular old EQG & that they give it a proper ending, the absolute dream case would be. First a Season-3 the as a finale end with a EQG 1-4 100-Min long Equestria Girls Movie. Then EQG-Life could come adter that.
@Background Pony #C847
Well, like I mentioned, given that Ponylife is a continuation of FiM, my guess is that Ponylife EQG would take the OG EQG and simply transition it to a new artstyle. Itll keep the story and characters, but EQG had alot less story than FiM. Even a season 3 would effectively have to begin a new story arc and close it to close the series. As for the overall story of magic coming into the human world, the new toys suggest Celestia and Luna may be playing a part.
@Background Pony #DB58
Exactly, the digital series is transitioning into a ponylife EQG. Same story as EQG, which existed for around 3 years before the digital series if you remember. Besides, the new toys aren’t actually for sale yet, if I recall.
@Background Pony #C847
You’re not going to get what you want and besides Boulder is working on BIG projects right now involving G5 commission work and Hasbro shows
@AspectofBlood21
One of my friends got the new EG Minis and he said the new toys are connected to pony life not the main OG EG due to the packaging and no mentioning of the digital series
