I would love it if she returned! And not just because I love Derpy. I think Derpy is a kind of symbol of the fandom. Her not being there in the background kind of feels like we’ve been abandoned.
Sorry to burst your bubbles, but the reason it took Sibsy’s “little power” is that she only helped with some clean up on the finale (rather than actually storyboarding it), not that whichever background pony it is would necessarily be problematic to put in the show.
They kill characters off in Sesame Street all the time. Although there it’s generally because the actor actually died. I was far from a foal any more, but I remember tuning in for the ep when Big Bird found out Mr. Hooper was dead. And of course the Muppet Show special where Kermit found out Jim Henson was dead, too.
PErhaps Derpy makes a short apperance and dies so Hasbro once and for all can bury her and be done with it?
Not saying I want this to happen, I have no real opinion on Derpy anyways. Just seems like an oportunity to silence the angry derpygate bronys having her dissapear somehow in a scene.
For some reason, that description makes me imagine some DBZ shit where Wildfire is channeling all of her remaining life force into Derpy’s bruised and bloodied corpse to resurrect her in a last-ditch effort to defeat some freaky alien asshole of questionable gender even by alien standards and save the universe.
