Question about Li’l Cheese’s gender answered, but fans still can have their own headcanons because there isn’t anything wrong with that… I suppose.

The real question is, who was responsible for Li’l Cheesee’s design? What the person was told or thought before creating them? Who was in charge?

They are both.

They might know more. Sometimes the staff doesn’t know what to say. Li’l Cheesee is an example. One of the staff says Li’l Cheesee is a boy but the other says they never cared about Cheesee’s gender. We may never be sure.

The foal is quantum sexed and quantum gendered; we just don’t know. I’d add it’s cruel to feminine-looking boys to assume Li’l Cheese is trans in-universe just based on appearance and our universe’s pronoun confusion.
 
And although I’ll go with whatever Hasbro decides, I’d like to note how little representation there is for curly-haired little boys in media in general.

Indeed she does. I was suspicious of Big Jim’s tweet from the beginning. Good thing Josh Haber came along and corrected it, revealing that Big Jim completely made up the “was originally intended to be male” claim and that Li’l Cheese’s gender was never a consideration.
 
Sure is odd that a lot of people are aware of Jim’s tweet but not Haber’s.
